Our client, a privately held hospitality and destination development group, is entering a crucial phase of growth and transformation. With an expanding portfolio of high-end projects and an evolving organisational structure, the company is seeking an Interim Chief Financial Officer to ensure financial stability, strengthen internal governance, and prepare the ground for the appointment of a permanent CFO.

Mission
The Interim CFO will play a pivotal leadership role during this transition period, guaranteeing business continuity while accelerating the professionalisation of the finance function. Acting as a key partner to the Board and ownership, the Interim CFO will be responsible for driving governance, performance control, and strategic decision support during a dynamic phase of organisational evolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure robust financial controls, compliance with regulatory requirements, and reliable financial reporting to the Board and shareholders.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and support a finance team of ~10 professionals, fostering alignment, accountability, and clarity of priorities.
  • Controlling & Performance: Consolidate budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting frameworks; define and implement relevant KPIs to support strategic decision-making.
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital: Oversee cash management, optimise working capital, and safeguard the organisation’s financial health during the transition.
  • Process & Structure: Establish scalable processes, strengthen systems and tools, and lay the foundation for the future CFO’s success.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary financial counterpart for the Board, ownership, banks, auditors, and external advisors, ensuring transparency and trust.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record as a CFO, Finance Director, or Interim CFO in hospitality, real estate development, or asset-heavy service industries.
  • Strong expertise in controlling, governance, compliance, and leadership of multidisciplinary finance teams.
  • Hands-on and solutions-oriented, with the ability to operate effectively in dynamic, entrepreneurial, and fast-evolving contexts.
  • Capable of quickly building credibility and stability, while driving structure and performance improvement.
  • Fluent English required; strong command of Italian is highly preferred.

Contract Details

  • Interim Executive Engagement – 4 to 6 months
  • Location: Tuscany, Italy (on-site / hybrid)
  • Compensation: Competitive executive-level package
