For our client, an innovative and growing company in the sport equipment industry located in Monza Brianza, we are seeking an Embedded Hardware Engineer to join the R&D department by contributing to the design, development and industrialization of innovative electronic components for the cycling sector.
The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of hardware components for electronic systems. This includes schematic design, sensor and motor management circuits, battery protection and charging circuits, antenna optimization, and the generation of Gerber files and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues throughout the development lifecycle. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, product managers, and quality assurance to ensure seamless integration of hardware components.
Technical Qualifications and Hard Skills:
Schematic Design:
- Proficiency in designing schematics for embedded electronic systems using tools such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or OrCAD.
- Ability to translate system requirements into detailed circuit designs.
- Sensor and Motor Management Circuits:
- Experience in designing and implementing circuits for various types of sensors and motors.
- Knowledge of signal conditioning, filtering, and amplification for sensor interfaces
- Battery Protection and Charging Circuits: Expertise in designing circuits for battery management for Lithium batteries, including overcharge, over-discharge protection, and balancing.
Antenna Optimization:
- Experience in designing and optimizing antennas for wireless communication systems.
- Familiarity with simulation tools for antenna design, such as HFSS or CST.
Gerber File and BOM Generation:
- Proficiency in generating Gerber files for PCB manufacturing.
- Experience in creating detailed BOMs that include component specifications, sourcing information, and cost analysis.
Additional Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of electronic components, PCB layout, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools for hardware testing.
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI standards and practices for ensuring compliance.
Educational and Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in hardware design and development.
- Proven track record of successful hardware projects from concept to production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with IoT devices and low-power design.
- Familiarity with embedded firmware development.
- Certification in relevant areas such as IPC or IEEE standards.
